Hi! My name is Diane Gress and I am a recent graduate (December 2015) of the Ohio State University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Communication.
My passions include design, writing, and Jesus. I love designing using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and creating websites using WordPress (and some Dreamweaver). My other passion is writing, and I’ve been trained in internal communications, writing for newsletters and news and magazine writing. I also secretly like to make videos, though I’ve never progressed past iMovie because I’m cheap!
I grew up on an Ayrshire dairy farm in the little village of Shreve, Ohio, about halfway between Cleveland and Columbus. It was a wonderful way to grow up and I wouldn’t change a thing about it (except perhaps the early hour at which I had to get up in the morning). Growing up that way I learned the value of hard work and respect, which I would like to think translates into how I work and interact with people.
I chose to attend The Ohio State University both because of their Agricultural Communication program and how much time I had spent in Columbus growing up. I love the atmosphere and the passion that people on campus have for different things, be it school, band, football or Jesus.
On campus, I was involved in the Media, Marketing and Communications scholars program, where I taught a class on Adobe Illustrator. I also worked as a Communication Specialist in Ohio State’s Parent and Family Relations Department. But what I’m was most involved in is H2O, a Christian campus ministry focused on getting the good news of Jesus to college students.
I am currently employed by the aforementioned ministry and will be working on campus at Ohio State as a missionary until May 2017, once my internship concludes. Though it is a full-time job, I am still excited about freelance opportunities as they come about – my passion for design & writing did not die when I graduated!
Thanks for visiting my site and I hope to hear from you soon!
